Jeff Smith, III has had an active practice advising business clients with legislative and regulatory issues, and lobbying on their behalf at the state and local level since 1977. His experience includes working for clients in the development of significant legislative initiatives, as well as various other corporate projects.

Jeff represents clients in the areas of government affairs and grassroots advocacy. Jeff’s experience in the Virginia political environment coupled with an understanding of the issues provides clients with the necessary tools to develop and execute a successful lobbying strategy.
Before joining The Smith Group, Jeff had the opportunity to serve in the Virginia Attorney General’s Office in the Tobacco and Alcohol Enforcement Division. In addition, he has advised several large commercial and industrial clients on electricity, gas and other energy matters.
